So do all optical mice have that problem?

Yup, I think some of the very latest models are less touchy though. Frankly your hand learns what not to do pretty rapidly so don't worry.

It's not caused by anything I do. I was literally moving the mouse down slowly to select an item on a drop down menu, and all of a sudden my cursor runs away to the right side of the screen. This is why I got a mouse with two sensors - I figured it had to be more accurate. I'll call Logitech, and if they can't give me any good news (hey, it just happened again, but now it went down to the bottom left corner), I'm returning it and getting the Microsoft mouse I was looking at. The mouse also has non-standard scroll wheel behavior.
The freaky behavior by the mouse is really startling when it happens during a game of Unreal... I'll be running somewhere, and all of a sudden my screen starts spinning - I don't even know sometimes whether I'm looking up or down, and it takes me a second to get my bearing. And it's really annoying when I die because of my mouse.

That jumpiness is the side affect of optical mice. A minor annoyance compared to most things. Keep that mouse as close to the mousepad as possible when you lift it up to re-orient/move it.
P.S. Real men play Battlefield 1942
