Via Scott, a worthwhile review of Star Trek: Nemesis. First, yeah Scott for giving props to Joss Whedon. Second, boo for making a crappy movie. And I've always thought Gates McFadden was pretty.
This is one of those times I wish I had Bill and Ted's excellent time machine, if only so I can get as much sleep as I want to. It'd be nice to have some more time to study, too.
Man, how good would it be to be able to go back and fix everything I've mucked up this semester...

There are some relatively good PHP tips at PHP Builder (via PHPEverywhere), and a pretty good article on data normalization there too. Turns out I've been using fourth normal form regularly Though both articles have an extraneous field in their fourth normal form table examples... you don't need the relationId here, and both the relatedUrlId and the relatedUserId should be a combined primary key. His table naming sucks too I find it's helpful, with a many to many relationship, to have table names like (using his example tables): Users, Urls, and User_Urls. It makes it clear what you're relating together.
Neat comments on 24 from Mr. Wright. Ditto. The one thing that was gay this week is... why did Jack's daughter and her boyfriend steal the abusive father's car rather than just taking their own? Is it because they didn't want him following them, because he had a way cooler car than they do (a shiny blue awesome Jaguar), or because the writers needed a cop to find his wife in the trunk? I think it may have been a little contrived for them to steal his car, especially when he could report it stolen and have a better chance of finding them. Maybe they just weren't thinking, or maybe the writers just cheated and used it to further the plot. It's a small nit though, but I'd like to hear anyone's ideas if you have any.
Also, why is the President's wife EVIL? Is there something I missed in the first season?
