Via Christine, http://www.blogtag.com/:
The premise: One blog is "IT" per day. The creator of the "IT" site has until midnight Central Time (UTC-6) to tag a blog and make that site the "IT" site for the next day. If "IT" does not tag a blog, one is tagged by the site admins.
"No tagbacks."
It's so undescribably good to be home. I'm home for the weekend! My own bed, my own room, no elevator, no smell in my room, it's cooler here, my family's here, I'm in Ramsey!, my dog is here, I don't have to walk everywhere. I feel a little bit more like a human being here.
If you're interested in physics, you may want to check out Light and Matter. You can download free copies of the books in PDF form. The books (from what I've checked out) are very readable.
However, they're definitely on the "anti-hardcore physics" side of things (though that isn't necessarily a bad thing). For instance, Kirchoff's Laws aren't called that, it's not as rigorous as some books are, etc.
I finally took a few minutes and completed the category support for my weblog. Everything was there except for the part that actually added the categories when I created or updated an entry.
Oh, son of the monster... MySQL's REPLACE command isn't smart enough to use a multi-column primary key to figure out whether to replace or insert. This has got to be a bug.
Oh duh, it is a bug, but it's my bug. Glad to know. I had an extra UNIQUE index that shouldn't have been there, in retrospect. That's what MySQL was keying off of for the REPLACE. There we go, now it works right. Silly me.
