OpenOffice almost ready

Looks like OpenOffice 1.0 is almost ready for release: "641d is our final release before OpenOffice.org 1.0. It is stable and it is by and large bug-free. But we want to make sure."

After Word crashed again on me the other day and made me lose a little of what I was working on (it's the frustration more than anything, as well as anger that Microsoft can put such buggy software in the hands of millions), I've decided to stop using Microsoft Word altogether... I'm downloading AbiWord right now to try that out.

Hey, AbiWord is neat. It's 'snappy' - much faster than Word. The very worst thing about it, and why I probably can't make the move to it, is that it doesn't have tables, which is their number one request for enhancement set for milestone 1.2 (argh!).
