Aw, shit. Eclipse is Java based? I didn't even realize that before. I had high hopes for it before I found that out. Java is a piece of crap for real apps. Ever try Netbeans? Or maybe just JEdit? Well, the people at IBM are probably smarter than most, so let's see what they can do. Here's their press release announcing its release as open source.

Hey, look at that. I wasn't sure if I had mentioned Eclipse before, but I checked, and I did. I'm glad I turned out to be wrong about the possibility of it being open source.
