I have to add a section for important specifications to my programming page. SMTP, POP3, maybe FTP, XML, HTML, Cookies, etc. Annoyingly I don't think the specs for C and C++ are online. Also, the Java specs are old, since Sun owns the language they haven't bothered to update them, although they have a new version coming out, I've heard.

This is a really good article, so far. It reminded me of I, Robot.

"Eventually a stage may be reached at which the decisions necessary to keep the system running will be so complex that human beings will be incapable of making them intelligently. At that stage the machines will be in effective control. People won't be able to just turn the machines off, because they will be so dependent on them that turning them off would amount to suicide."

Two things: first, I did a search in my new electronic Bible for places where the words "sin" and "atonement" appear anywhere near each other. In the vast majority of cases they were in the context of sacrifices. In all but one case out of all the ones I looked at in fact. Very Interesting!

Second, something dawned on me today. I sort of knew it before, but didn't think about it too much. Modern Jews seem to hate the Church. Unfortunately they exand it to Christianity in general even though the Roman Catholic church did most of the persecuting throughout history. I've even heard the Holocaust blamed on Christianity. In any case, even though they hate the Roman Catholic church, ironically, Orthodox Jews have a very similar belief structure to Roman Catholicism. Both are works-based religions, both have a very similar view of tradition (including an "oral" tradition), both have a very similar view of authority, etc.

Oh, also this weekend I got an awesome electronic Bible. Sean got a new one, so I bought his old one off him. I like it a lot. He kept it in really good shape. Thanks Sean!

Hey, pretty good weekend here. I helped out with my mom's benefit dinner at the Ridgewood Raquet Club, and today I played tennis with my dad and helped him move rocks. We were like kids playing in the dirt. It was great.

Also, my brother's getting a digital camera, which is cool, and I'm getting a new computer, which I'm all excited about. Now I can watch DVDs!

Also, I updated my Christianity page and added some links to it.
