Code Katas and bit-twiddling

Check out Dave Thomas's Code Katas. He started with this first code kata and grew it into a series. Check them out.

Regarding the first Kata, I've always been really bad at bit-twiddling. He mentions the book Hacker's Delight, which looks like it could really help in that area.
